Today, you will learn how to make delicious watermelon jam recipe without pectin. Watermelon rind jam is easy and cheap. I am sure, you throw away rind of watermelon. Rind of watermelon includes different minerals and vitamins, also it shows anti-aging and anti-cancer effects. Let's start for healty recipe.

Ingredients of Watermelon Jam

  • 1,5 kg rind of watermelon
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 2 cups of water
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 5 kg water for lime slip
  • 250 gr quicklime

Method of Watermelon Jam

  1. First, prepare lime slip. Add 250gr quicklime in 5kg water. Wait 6 hours. Please use aluminum cap. Lime produces heat inside water.
  2. Eat red side of watermelon, you will use white side of it in jam.
  3. Peel the watermelon skin.
  4. Cut the rind of watermelon into small pieces.
  5. Add water of lime slip. Wait 8 hours. (note: don't pour white powder of lime on watermelon)
  6. After 8 hours wash watermelon with normal water.
  7. Now, you can prepare syrup. Add 2 cups of water and 2 cups of sugar in pot. Heat it on oven.
  8. Durin boiling, add watermelon pieces, 4 cloves and 1 cinnamon stick.
  9. Boil it 5 minutes.
  10. Wait 1 night.
  11. In morning, again boil it 5 minutes.
  12. Wait 1 hours.
  13. Again boil it 5 minutes.
  14. Remove cloves and cinnamon.
  15. Put inside a jar.
  16. After 2 hours, you can keep it inside refrigarator.
